Talk about being Lucky! B747 Incident
On 3/22, a B747-200 freighter took off with a load of building materials including one very large pipe.
On rotation, the pipe broke from its secure wooden box and punctured through the rear pressure bulkhead,
“depressurising” the aircraft.
A closer look:
No big deal since the aircraft was just departing and pressure differential was not that big of a deal.
Just return and land. What was a big deal is what was on the other side of the punctured bulkhead!
Can you say "Flight Control Hydraulics?!!" Holy Cow!! A little closer...
